It’s such an enjoyable time of the year isn’t it, Spring with all the beautiful shades of green! I am in Ireland to speak in different places about the ministry and to see and hear what the Lord is doing here. Before this I was in Holland briefly. In my home church we had a festive celebration to honour the Lord for 25 years of ministry in Misión Adulam. It is very special to look back at all which, with Gods help and also through His children, has been accomplished here. In August we hope to celebrate this also in Bolivia!
And yes, things are happening in Jesed, the first three children live there now! We had closed it for couples and re-opened officially to care for boys in the ages of 8 to 12, who find themselves, at the beginning of their lives, starting a career in addictions and street life. A new challenge with its own programme!

At the moment we are in the middle of inspections by the authorities. Soon there is a re-inspection to check if all the observations are resolved. We had to touch up some paint in two of the houses, it’s true that we have a lot of backlog regarding maintenance in several of the houses. We are not able to put that on the top of the priority list concerning the budget and neither to get staff involved. As part of the evaluation process all staff needs a psychological evaluation that we have to pay for, but it’ll be interesting to see the outcome of that.
Meanwhile I also revisited the Chonchocoro prison, where we made 400 men happy with a warm sweater, coat or T-shirt. For Willem I had a pair of shoes he received with tears: they fit him like a glove! There were some good conversations with quite a few men and I pray that the doors will be open to return on a more regular basis, especially to those sections where at the moment no-one visits.
I want to wish you all a very good summer holiday, time of recharging energy and breaking the daily routines! Please continue to pray for us and the young people the Lord has entrusted to us. This time I want to specially ask you to pray for the team, several have difficult situations regarding health in their families. Others work in automatic mode and need inspiration and a new touch of the Lord. And also please pray for a man come forward to complement the team of Jesed.
Once again thank you very much for your faithful support in prayer and financial support, it is a privilege to count you in as part of our greater team.
Bye, with warm greetings, may the Lord bless you, Fineke
