Dear friends,
A safe place, that’s what each teenager and child who comes to us longs for.
A place where they can be themselves and be listened to. A place also, where they can get out of their confusion and have the opportunity to get a fresh grip on their lives. Frequently this is made much more difficult because their parents don’t appreciate how important the part they should be playing is.

Then we hear for instance from a little 7 yr. old girl who comes to Jesed, about the trouble there is at home. Both parents have to work and therefore hardly have any time for her and her younger little brother. And we see the result of beatings when we detect bruises and a sore hand.

Or Wil, once he was rehabilitated, didn’t want to return to the life of dealing drugs that had caused him so many problems and so much trouble.
We tried to encourage his parents, as we try to do with all parents that we are in contact with, to do all they can to create a safe environment for their children, but well, that’s easier said than done.
Only the Lord Jesus can be a real safe haven for our young people and children, and many of them know this. We see this for example in their notes with prayer requests. “For my grandparents and my brothers and sisters”. “For the Lord to help me get out of the hell of addiction”.

This week we have been blessed by a serious amount of foodstuffs from a government agency, a real boost!
Felina at long last received our accreditation after more than a year of struggling through red tape. The sad thing is we have to start the whole tedious and energy consuming process again and comply with the then current requirements of the authorities.
I am back home in Bolivia, after a very profitable time in the Netherland’s, where I had many opportunities to share and also speak about the ministry of Mision Adulam. Through Zoom I participated of the mid-year evaluations of the ministry, wonderful to see how the team continually looks for new ways to serve the people the Lord entrusts to us.
Arriving back home was and still is a bit tough, as many people around me passed away in these months. And there is Anita, my “granddaughter” it’s now seven weeks that she’s in intensive care because of Corona, every day there is a different prognosis, very hard. Most certainly for her children and Teresa who haven’t seen her anymore after she was admitted to the hospital.
I really appreciate being connected with you through prayer, together we stand around our young people and children, making a difference with long lasting effect because of the impact we can have in their lives.
Bye, united with you in the love of the Lord Jesus, Fineke and teams.
